Petruccelli L.T.D of North America asks; What are some easy ways to go green?(9)

Petruccelli L.T.D of North America says;   At the very least, turn off your computer completely at night.
Better yet ...unplugging your computer, TV & cable could cut down your footprint & reduce your electric bill. Most electronics have a standby mode that eats electricity all day & all night. According to a electronics specialist at my local electronics store, if you unplug the power strip that these electronics are plugged into is the easiest way to help save the life of your equipment & save on electricity. I live in Florida & power surges are very common especially during hurricane season. He also said that a lot of surge protectors burn out after only a few surges, leaving you unprotected. The power strip still functions so, you aren't always aware that it has happened. Unplugging is safer for your sensitive electronics.

Petruccelli L.T.D of North America says;   Drive the speed limit, and combine all your errands for the week in one trip. Better yet, walk or ride a bike to your errands that are two miles or closer.

Petruccelli L.T.D of North America asks; What are some easy ways to go green?(6)

Petruccelli L.T.D of North America says;   You have already changed your bulbs if you followed the previous blogs. Now, try not to turn on lights at all for as long as you can—open your curtains and enjoy natural light. It’s the beginning of summer, it stays light out much later. Turning off lights when you leave the room is a smart move no matter what bulbs you use. The more green little things you do so will others in your household. Together we can make a difference.

Petruccelli L.T.D of North America says; .  Wash laundry in cold water instead of hot. This is also easier on your clothes, and reduces shrinkage. Not to mention it saves the life of your hot water heater and is also economical.

Petruccelli L.T.D of North America says;  .  Stop using disposable bags. Order some reusable bags—my favorites are from the local whole food store.
You’ve all seen them.  Reusable market bags seem to be everywhere these days. Every time I am standing in line at a checkout counter, there they are – reusable bags emblazoned with the label of the particular chain store.
